Watching the Flowers Grow

Watching the Flowers Grow

Have you ever planted a seed in the ground then sat there second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, week by week waiting for it to grow?

Sounds ridiculous when we think about it, doesn’t it?

Why? Because we know, the seed is going to grow when it grows. And we know, it won’t grow any faster by watching it.

Yet sometimes we want things to happen so bad, we will literally sit there and watch our seeds grow, waiting for them to become flowers.

When we have a dream, sometimes the best thing we can do is make sure that we’ve put all the elements in place: the right seed, the right soil, the right amount of water, the right amount of sun and that’s it.

We do what we need to in order to maintain it: water it when we need to but checking on it periodically, to make sure everything is all right.

But other than that, that’s all we can do.

Moving on and enjoying the 99% of the rest of our life, is much more fulfilling than waiting and watching our seed grow.

Then one day, lo and behold, we notice our seed has taken root and we have a flower; a dream realized.

Grow a Pear

Grow a Pear

I have to say that I hate pears. The taste is all right but something about their consistency when I chew them, reminds me of sucking on snails.

I’ve gotten to the age where I’m very clear about what I like and what I don’t. And I have no problem being very direct about it, no matter what anyone thinks.

But sometimes you have to step outside of your box. Sometimes if you find that you aren’t getting the results you want, then maybe it’s time to step outside of your box, to try something new.

Sometimes that means doing the exact opposite of what you’ve been doing.

Yes, sometimes you have to grow a pear.

Tired of dating dumb jocks? Try a nerd.
Bored with your mundane life? Go skydiving.
Can’t find anything good on TV? Shoot some hoops.
Can’t get a pay raise? Start your own business.

What can you do differently today that will be one step in the opposite direction?

Can you grow a pear?

Stepping outside your box might be the very thing you’ve been looking for.

But It’s Not My Fault!

Frequently Asked Questions About Book Publishing:

There are so many people much more qualified than me to answer the most common book publishing questions I get.  So, instead of answering them, I’m going to paste links to their information below and let them do the talking. These people I highly recommend.

This is exactly where I learned everything I know. When I was just beginning my career as an author, I knew nothing and I hadn’t a penny to spare. So, I rolled up my own sleeves and learned most everything on Google and from trial and error.  That’s what I recommend you do too. If you’ve got more money than God and you want someone to just do all the work for you, there are legitimate people who can do that for you like Story Merchant.  Other than that, I suggest you read every single post from every single link listed below.  Do that, and you’ll know everything I know and more!
